The Royal Palace of Madrid is an 18th-century architectural gem. Built by the French Bourbon dynasty, its design was inspired by the Palace of Versailles. However, Madrid’s Royal Palace is the largest in Europe, covering approximately 135,000 square meters and housing over 3,400 rooms. The exterior showcases a classicist Baroque style, while the interior is a magnificent display of Rococo exuberance.

The new Bourbon monarchs aimed to recreate the lavishness they had known at Versailles. Among the most impressive features are the breathtaking ceiling frescoes, painted by three of the greatest masters in art history: Luca Giordano from Naples, Giambattista Tiepolo from Venice, and Anton Raphael Mengs from Germany. Their stunning work never fails to leave visitors in awe.
